Training with local women and housewives’ community in the Trabzon Maturation Institute

On December 25th, 2021, a training was conducted in the Trabzon Maturation Institute. The training was targeting the local women-housewives’ communities. Women and housewives play important role in family education and litter control from homes and their community in general. Trabzon Maturation Institute is an informal education institution for local women developing their skill in handicrafts.  In Turkey, such public education center has a vital role in engaging the women and housewives’ community. In the institute, local women take part in recycling used materials for handicrafts. A total of twenty first people was participated in the training with due observance of the COVID-19 pandemic health protocol.  The training was started with a small discussion to assess their understanding on marine litter (sources, impact, and solutions) starts from their daily basis to the complex society. Then continued to a sharing experience on household litter handling and watching movie related on the topic. The training participants were showing their awareness and enthusiastic on dealing with litter at house and their community. At the end, training participants were taking picture together.
