SPRING CLEANING AT THE MARINE SCIENCE FACULTY

On April 5th, 2021, the academicians and the administrative staff of Marine Science Faculty gathered in open air for an important cause. The purpose and the importance of this activity was explained by faculty Dean Prof. Dr. A. Muzaffer Feyzioğlu and LitOUTer (BSB – 785) Project Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Coşkun Erüz. In this outdoor activity, which was carried out in accordance with the Covid-19 rules, a litter collection activity was carried out within the faculty boundary. When the litter collected at the end of the activity was examined, it was seen that the majority of them were cigarette butts, styrofoams, plastic bottles and waste made of plastic that we threw in our own coastline or was carried from other coastlines, as well as garbage that was thrown around our faculty or was carried by the wind. The content of the litter collected at the end of the activity was a wake-up call for the participants.
