As part of the ongoing series of activities under the LitOUTer Project to commemorate World Environment Day, a special event was held on June 9, 2023, focusing on reducing marine litter in the Black Sea. The event was organized in collaboration with Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ) Higher Vocational School in Arsin, Trabzon.

The session began with a welcoming speech by the host, setting the tone for the day’s activities. This was followed by an engaging presentation and discussion by Prof. Dr. Fatma TELLİ KARAKOÇ. Participants actively contributed to the discussion, sharing insightful opinions and personal experiences about minimizing litter and integrating recycling practices into their daily lives.

The event saw the active participation of at least 23 individuals, including students and staff from Arsin Higher Vocational School. As a gesture of appreciation, the school director presented certificates to the LitOUTer Project team for their valuable contributions.

The day concluded with a hands-on beach clean-up activity near the school premises, further reinforcing the message of environmental stewardship and the importance of collective action in protecting the Black Sea ecosystem.
